CastleStorm thuộc thể loại thủ thành (tower defense).Bạn chỉ cần xây dựng quân đội ,sử dụng tháp cung để tấn công thành kẻ địch,sau mỗi trận chiến bạn sẽ được nâng cấp dụng cụ hỗ trợ cũng như nâng cấp lính.
Game gồm 4 chế độ chơi ở phần campaign,3 chế đọ chởi ở phần multiplayer.
